U. S. State and Canadian Fish Consumption Advisories

Fishing is a great way to enjoy time with your children and teach them about life beneath the water's surface. Unfortunately, fish and mollusks can be contaminated by mercury, PCBs and other toxic chemicals.

While KidSafe Seafood has chosen to focus on commercially available seafood, we know that it might not be easy to locate information on fish you might catch yourself in our lakes, rivers and coastal waters. As such, we are providing links to the available state and Canadian Web sites detailing local fish advisories. We hope this will help you make sure the fish you catch and eat are healthy options.
