The KidSafe Seafood Program helps to minimize the confusion about what species and which quantities of seafood are safe for children to consume. The program encourages greater scientific clarity and government fish consumption guidelines for kids, works to create demand for healthy and sustainable seafood and educates parents about which seafood is best for their children and for the ocean.

KidSafe Seafood is a program of SeaWeb, a not-for-profit organization focused on ensuring a healthy ocean, and a healthy seafood supply, for the future. The Roy Disney Family Foundation provided funding. Environmental Defense provided extensive scientific research and technical assistance.

A Scientific Advisory Panel guided the development of the KidSafe Seafood recommendations.

A team of culinary and pediatric health experts lead the KidSafe Seafood outreach effort.
