Note: KidSafe Seafood's Best Choices list does not include farmed trout because data about contamination levels in trout is lacking and practices of some farms are questionable. However, we are featuring Sunburst Trout this month because it works to educate children and improve trout farming techniques for the benefit of the environment. The company uses a proprietary vegetable-based feed; for this reason, Sunburst’s trout is low in contaminants and its production methods are more environmentally friendly than most trout farms.

KidSafe Seafood does not endorse specific products or companies. We welcome any trout farm to submit data and testing so they, too, can be a part of our campaign.
